In the state’s Akoko North axis, eight passengers who had been abducted have been freed by Ondo State Security Network Agency agents operating under the codename Amotekun. What may have turned into yet another horrific case of kidnapping for ransom was prevented by the prompt response and distress call that followed. The successful operation was announced by Amotekun Corps Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye on Sunday, May 25, 2026, at a news conference held at the Corps’ command headquarters in Akure.
