A Nigerian man, @Mubarack_Umar on X (previously Twitter), has come out with a distressing tale of treachery on social media. He claims that his gateman tried to poison him and then stole from him while he was in the hospital.
The victim’s post claims that the incident happened on Wednesday and that he was taken to the hospital unconscious after being poisoned.
His trustworthy security guard allegedly took advantage of the fact that he was fighting for his life in the emergency room by breaking into his room and stealing a quantity of cash.
The shocking twist, Umar claims, came the following morning when the gateman called at exactly 9:52 a.m. to ask about his recovery. After a brief exchange in which the guard wished him well, the phone line went dead—and the gateman disappeared without a trace.
“Our gateman allegedly poisoned me last Wednesday. After I was rushed to the hospital unconscious, he entered my room and stole my money—thinking I wouldn’t survive,”Umar wrote, attaching photos of hospital medications and call records. “The next morning, he called to check on me and wished me a quick recovery. Five minutes later, he turned off his phone and vanished—with my money.”
The post has gone viral, triggering an outpouring of shock and condemnation across social media platforms. Many users expressed disbelief over the betrayal, with others calling on law enforcement to track down the suspect and ensure justice is served.
As of the time of filing this report, the identity of the suspect remains unknown, and no official statement has been released by the police. However, calls are mounting for a thorough investigation into the matter.
