The late Nollywood actor Junior Pope’s wife, Jennifer Awele, is commemorating his 45th posthumous birthday.
She shared a video of the deceased actor and his family on her Instagram page, expressing her regret that she would no longer be able to honor him with her various gifts.
She said that she is now honoring him with memories, tears, and a heart that continues to beat in time with yours. “You inquired about my birthdate in July 2010.” I asked for yours, and you replied that it was the seventh day of the first week of May. You said, “Clap smartly.”

Refreshing your memory, Junior Pope and others lost their lives after drowning at Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a movie set produced by Adanma Luke on April 8th. Luke had received tons of backlash for not providing the actors with safety procedures, which led to their deaths.
On April 10th, Jennifer celebrated his one-year remembrance. She noted that it’s been a year of standing in the face of unimaginable loss, and not a day has gone by without a thought of him. She said her late husband had no idea how tough it had been trying to stay strong for each other as the world around them fell apart.
Joining her, Yul Edochie’s estranged wife, May Edochie, prayed that he would continue to rest in peace and that God would continue to protect his family. She noted how tough it is for a husband and wīfe to raise a family, let alone a single parent. In a message to his wife, she stated that God remains her strength and prayed that He inspires her to resume her business.
Empress Njamah had shared a video of her organising a makeover for Jennifer on her husband’s remembrance day. Njamah noted that it’s okay not to be okay, but it’s okay to start feeling better. She noted that Junior Pope may be dead, but his legacy lives on through her and their kids. Empress told Jennifer to keep shining her light and making him proud.
