
I’m Residents of Doka Avong village in Kufana District, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, are under stress after suspected bandits kidnapped the village head’s wife and son.
Heavily armed men reportedly broke into the village leader’s home at around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, and forcibly removed his wife, 38-year-old Deborah Jonah, and their 14-year-old son, Maxwell Jonah.
In a letter written by Mr. Stephen Maikori, the Overseer of Kufana District, the unsettling event was duly reported to the Agom of Kufana Chiefdom.
“In view of the growing threat, we call for immediate and decisive action to safeguard our people and property. The safety of our communities must not be compromised,” he said.
The latest abduction has once again highlighted the persistent insecurity plaguing Kajuru LGA, an area that has suffered a string of violent raids and kidnappings in recent years.
Local leaders have reiterated the need for sustained military and police presence, warning that failure to respond quickly could embolden criminal groups operating in the region.
