Saudi Arabia has temporarily halted issuing the blockwork visa quota to Nigerians and citizens of six other African nations as part of a broad policy change intended to manage incoming labor during seasons of high pilgrimage.
Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, and Morocco are among the other countries impacted. In total, 14 countries were touched by the suspension, including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Yemen, Indonesia, Iraq, and Jordan.
Saudi firms are permitted to hire a set number of foreign workers under blockwork visas, which are quota-based licenses.
Businesses are able to apply for work visas for particular people once the quota has been authorized.
