Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, a social media activist, has published an in-depth interview with Dominica, a close female friend of the late Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, well known as Mohbad.
In the most recent installment of his ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death, Verydarkman interviewed Dominica, who described her interactions with the singer, including the day they were both supposedly arrested by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) agents.
According to Dominica, she witnessed Mohbad being physically assaulted by NDLEA officers during a raid at the Marlian house. “They hit him on the head several times before taking him to their office,” she claimed, adding that the singer was released the same day due to a scheduled performance in Dubai. She also alleged that Mohbad’s partner, Wunmi, was beaten during the incident but managed to escape.
Dominica, who described herself as the girlfriend of one of Mohbad’s close friends at the time, said she spent several days in NDLEA custody and could not continue recording the events due to expired data on her device.
On substance use, she revealed that the late singer occasionally used drugs and alcohol, which she claimed often made him aggressive. She said Mohbad once told her he needed to get high to perform better in the studio. She also alleged that fellow artist Bella Shmurda introduced him to substance use.
Dominica further recalled overhearing Wunmi reporting Mohbad to his father and to singer Naira Marley over concerns about his behavior and lifestyle.
