It has been formally declared that Afropop artist Omah Lay is no longer under the management of Nigerian talent manager Muyiwa Awoniyi.
Awoniyi disclosed the professional split in a message posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, professing his appreciation and respect for the “Soso” hitmaker.
“With love and respect, I am no longer managing @Omah_Lay. That’s my brother and I wish him all the best in his endeavors for life!” he wrote.
Shortly after the announcement, Omah Lay responded warmly, praising Awoniyi’s impact on his career.
“@IAmDonawon. The most intelligent nigga I’ve met so far in the game, love you forever my blood,” the singer posted on X.
Awoniyi, widely recognized for his strategic vision and industry expertise, has played a pivotal role in the careers of several Nigerian artists. In addition to Omah Lay, he is known for his work with Grammy-winning singer Tems and Nigerian-Canadian act Nonso Amadi.
The reason behind the split was not disclosed, but both parties appear to have parted ways amicably.
