May Edochie’s legal agent, Emeka Ugwuonye, has denied circulating rumors that his client submitted an apology letter to her estranged husband, Yul Edochie, during their ongoing divorce proceedings.
Speaking during a live session on Tuesday, Ugwuonye disputed the reports as absolutely incorrect, stating that May is still committed to her legal pursuit of divorce and justice for alleged adultery.
“There is nothing like that. May has no reason to apologize, she was the one who filed for the divorce. Yul had the opportunity to fight for a counterclaim, but he didn’t do that. As it is today, Yul wants polygamy,”he stated.
He further argued that Yul should be the one extending an apology to May, given that his choice to embrace polygamy contributed to the collapse of their marriage.
Ugwuonye also urged the public to ignore the misleading narratives surrounding the alleged letter, branding them as baseless.
It is worth recalling that May Edochie initiated divorce proceedings in August 2023, citing adultery and demanding N100 million in damages from Judy Austin, the woman Yul introduced as his second wife in April 2022.
