
Teslim Gbadamosi, a 24-year-old petrol attendant, was arraigned before the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly embezzling ₦2,477,000 belonging to his employer.
The incident occurred on September 26 at 7 Express Filling Station, located in Mowo along the Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
According to the prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, the defendant allegedly stole the money, which was the proceeds from three days of fuel sales.
Gbadamosi pleaded not guilty to the charge, which contravenes Section 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.
Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a recognized community leader with at least two years of tax clearance.
The case was adjourned until November 19 for further mention.
