The Lagos State Government has announced that contractors working on the rehabilitation of the Eti-Osa/Lekki/Epe Expressway, from the Admiralty Way junction to the Ajah Jubilee Bridge, will vacate the site on Thursday, December 4, 2025, and resume work on the second phase of the project by mid-January 2026.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the state government’s press office contained the directive. The government stated that the temporary suspension of work is intended to ease congestion along the busy corridor during the festive season, shorten travel times, and facilitate smoother movement for residents and motorists.
The pause, it stated, will help alleviate stress for commuters and prevent the loss of critical man-hours typically caused by heavy traffic. The announcement followed a joint inspection of the project by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and the construction firm, CRCC.
