Colombian superstar Shakira and Afrobeats icon Burna Boy have officially joined forces for “Dai Dai,” the electrifying official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Released on Thursday, May 14, 2026, via Sony Music Latin, “Dai Dai” is a nearly four-minute fusion of Afrobeats and Latin rhythms — a high-energy, multilingual pop track built for stadiums. The music video was filmed at the iconic Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
What’s in the Song?
In one verse, Shakira shouts out some of the world’s biggest football nations: “Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia… Mexico, Japan, Korea, Netherlands.” After the first chorus, both artists trade verses and come together for a powerful duet.
Shakira previewed the track last week with a teaser clip filmed at Maracanã, singing: “Here in this place / You belong / What broke you once / Made you strong.”
A Historic Moment for Afrobeats
This marks Shakira’s fourth World Cup anthem (following “Waka Waka” in 2010, “La La La” in 2014) and Burna Boy’s first-ever FIFA World Cup official song — a massive leap for Afrobeats onto the biggest global stage in sports.
World Cup Final Halftime Show
The song’s release comes right after FIFA announced that Shakira, Madonna, and K-pop giants BTS will co-headline the first-ever Super Bowl-style World Cup final halftime show on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The lineup was curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
For a Good Cause
Royalties from “Dai Dai” will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a campaign aiming to raise $100 million to help children worldwide access education and football.
