Newly released CCTV evidence has disproved widespread allegations that controversial social media figure VeryDarkMan was detained at a GTBank branch.
The security footage, which surfaced through a post on X (now Twitter), shows the online personality calmly doing transactions inside the bank before walking out independently.
A second clip, recorded outside the bank, captures the moment several unidentified men intercepted him. The individuals, reportedly plainclothes officers, lacked any visible insignia, making it difficult to determine their affiliation.
Reports remain conflicting over the agency responsible for his arrest, with some sources pointing fingers at the police while others suggest the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may be involved.
However, what is now certain is that contrary to earlier claims, VeryDarkMan was not arrested within the banking hall. The footage has ignited heated debate online, with thousands reacting and speculating on social media.
As of press time, the circumstances surrounding his detention remain unclear.
