The existence of unlicensed “Fair Child Soap” in Nigeria has alarmed the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, or NAFDAC.
The agency said in a statement that it had received a complaint about the improper promotion and usage of skin-lightening products by children. According to NAFDAC, it found that “Fair Child Soap,” an unregistered imported cosmetic product, is being marketed at several retail locations in Lagos during a routine post-market surveillance.
