Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, is advocating for her sister, Ruth Otabor, to receive medical treatment in India, driven by her desire to ensure Ruth receives the best possible care. In a video circulating online, Phyna was seen at the hospital alongside members of the Dangote Group management, proactively seeking solutions for her sister’s recovery. After a severe accident on August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, Ruth underwent leg amputation due to her injuries. Notably, this incident occurred just six days after her graduation. In the footage, Phyna constructively criticized the current medical care, emphasizing her determination to explore international treatment options for her sister’s optimal recovery.
She envisioned a future where every child, regardless of background, has access to the same opportunities, saying, “I want my sister to have the same chances as Dangote’s child, because if we don’t provide that here, they’ll seek it abroad.” When one of the men present disagreed, she stood firm in her conviction.
In response to inquiries about her plans for her sister, Phyna expressed her determination to seek medical care abroad, specifically in India. Phyna has also taken to social media, requesting prayers for her sister Ruth. The Dangote Group has acknowledged the incident and pledged support, demonstrating a commitment to accountability. Phyna, a BBNaija winner, has vowed to advocate for justice, inspiring a nationwide call to action and sparking meaningful conversations about safety and welfare. #JusticeForRuth
