Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with the resignation taking effect as of today, October 15.
In a related development, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, along with 22 lawmakers, have also resigned from the opposition party.
The resignation of Governor Diri from the PDP follows the defection of Peter Mbah, his counterpart from Enugu State, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) within the past 24 hours.
It is anticipated that Governor Diri will join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
