Kylian Mbappé expressed his desire to remain at Real Madrid “for many years” and accumulate more trophies with the club after receiving the European Golden Boot for the 2024-25 season.
Mbappé scored 31 LaLiga goals in his debut campaign with Madrid, securing the prestigious individual trophy presented by European Sports Media for the first time in his career.
“It’s a pleasure for me to win the Golden Boot,” Mbappé stated during a ceremony at the Bernabéu attended by coach Xabi Alonso, the Real Madrid squad, and president Florentino Pérez.
“It’s an important moment for me, my first time winning this prize. It holds significant value for me as a forward.”
This prestigious award is awarded to the top scorer in Europe’s leagues during a season, based on a weighted points system that rewards goals scored in more competitive leagues.
Mbappé’s remarkable achievement of 31 league goals resulted in 62 points, allowing him to surpass Viktor Gyökeres, who earned 58.5 points for his performance at Sporting CP, and Mo Salah of Liverpool, who secured 58 points.
The previous recipients of the prize include Harry Kane in 2023-24, Erling Haaland in 2022-23, and Robert Lewandowski in the two seasons preceding those.
Following an impressive start to the 2025-26 season, marked by 12 victories in 13 games across all competitions under new coach Alonso, Mbappé expressed his appreciation for the efforts of his teammates.
